My name is David Schneider, a professional celebrant for both funerals and weddings. As you are here reading this, either a loved one has passed on or preparations are being made for an imminent death. 

The death of a loved one is a tragic event – those left behind may well feel devastated and grief-stricken at their loss. There is a bewildering array of arrangements to be made and important decisions to take. This is where as a sympathetic and experienced Funeral Celebrant, I can help.

Today, more people want to say farewell to their loved ones in their own way; in a funeral service filled with love and respect for the person who has died. I help families to create personal funeral ceremonies which honour the loved one and celebrate their life.

I always create heartfelt ceremonies that honour the cycle of life and death. 

I work closely with families and individuals to create together a unique and personal ceremony that is right for your loved one and your family, encouraging friends and family to contribute and participate in any way they wish to help deepen everyone’s understanding of, and connection with the person who has died, in a wonderful and intimate ceremony.

You can have the service you want. I will meet with you to discuss your ideas, beliefs and desires so we can create a service that is a true and deeply individual reflection of the person who has died. The service can include readings, songs, poems and music. We can include prayers or equally we can have no religious content at all.  You may want to involve lots of family and friends in the service or you may want me to take the whole service- what ever you prefer I am here to help you say farewell in a fitting and memorable way.

My primary task is to assist families in creating such a funeral. Each ceremony is as unique as the person they are for.

Life is a journey ~ a journey that we all make during the time that we have on this earth and, whilst birth is usually seen as a joyous occasion and something to celebrate, death can sadly be associated with feelings of great loss and sorrow, feelings that we may experience at a confusing time when we can feel too emotional to cope.

This is just the time when I would like to be able to help you for it is my belief that when someone dies, their life can be celebrated with a unique ceremony that reflects their equally unique personality, their life achievements and all that they meant to you and your family and friends.

I believe that it is a huge privilege to be asked to conduct a funeral ceremony and my fulfilment comes from creating a ceremony that is beautiful, full of lasting memories and that also honours the life of the person who has died.
